We are advertising a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team as winemaker, working with a team of experienced individuals to create some of New Zealand’s most iconic wines.
Reporting to the Chief Winemaker, this position is responsible for the day to day running of our winery and cellar team and encompasses all aspects of our winemaking and oenology program.
You will naturally be suited to this role as you have a minimum of 3 years’ winemaking experience at a similar level, a strong understanding and passion for winemaking and the great wines of the world and have successfully managed a team of people. You will possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic and previous experience in a strong work/wine culture. The ability to communicate our craft to a wide range of people, including trade and industry cohort is pivotal in this role.
Your outstanding qualifications and experience provide you with the knowledge and technical ability to assist in leading a team with uncompromising attention to detail across our two Wineries at our Gimblett Gravels and Giants Vineyards. Both wineries have been designed with meticulous craftsmanship in mind, small-batch, high-quality production and feature world-class equipment and technology. Our winery places a strong emphasis on trials and evolution, so an understanding of industry innovations and global trends will be a key component of your skillset.

Experienced Duty Manager
Craggy Range Winery is located on Waimarama Road at the foot of Te Mata Peak, 5 minutes from Havelock North, where it plays host to our award-winning restaurant.

This position is roster-based and requires the flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts. Vineyard Workers (Martinborough)
Craggy Range has an enviable reputation for quality, innovation and positioning in the New Zealand and Global wine market. Our ambition is to make world-class wines from a range of specially selected vineyards throughout the country.
We are looking for seasonal Vineyard Workers to join our team in Martinborough for approximately five weeks of work. This role includes but is not limited to, crop thinning, netting, picking, and general vineyard development work.
No previous experience is required; however, the successful candidates must be physically fit.
Candidates must be able to listen to and follow instructions from Vineyard Supervisors, and maintain a high standard of quality in their work.
These roles are fixed-term, starting from now until mid-April 2021. There will be some flexibility required with days worked due to seasonal variances and weather conditions.
