We are pleased to announce the appointment of two key roles in our Vineyard Team in Martinborough.
Stefan Huggett – Vineyard Foreman, Donald Vineyard
Stefan joins us from Te Kairanga and Martinborough Vineyards where he has spent the last 3.5 years working across vineyard and technical roles. Stefan completed his Graduate Diploma in Oenology and Viticulture from Lincoln University and has also obtained his WSET Level 2 and 3.
Prior to venturing into the world of Viticulture, Stefan completed a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling/Management) and held a number of Management roles within the Hospitality and Customer Service sector. Stefan’s background and experience in viticulture and team management make him a great fit for the role and we are excited to have him as part of our team. Stefan started in his role on Monday 14 September.
Fabiano Frangi – Assistant Vineyard Manager, Martinborough
Fabiano is an experienced Vineyard leader with 19 years of experience in both conventional, organic and biodynamic viticulture. Most recently Fabiano has held the role of Premium Vineyard Manager for Giesen based in Marlborough and prior to this held the role of Vineyard Manager for Clos Henri Vineyard for 9 years. These positions have given Fabiano extensive experience growing Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc
Fabiano has a strong passion for organics and has been part of the Executive Committee of Organic Winegrowers of New Zealand. More recently, Fabiano has also led pruning workshops across all of New Zealand‘s wine regions teaching modern techniques to improve Vine health and longevity.
Originating from Italy, Fabiano now calls NZ home. Fabiano will be relocated to the Martinborough region with his wife and 2 young kids and will start in his role on the 2nd November.
Please join us in congratulating both Stefan and Fabiano on their appointments and welcoming them to the Craggy Team.
