Craggy Range Winery was recognised last night at the 2019 Hawke’s Bay Tourism awards, winning the Visitor Experience Award, sponsored by Hastings District Council and the top honour on the night, the Supreme Award sponsored by EIT.
The Hawke’s Bay Tourism Awards, judged by highly-credentialed experts, recognise the best tourism businesses and experiences in Hawke’s Bay.
The last 36 months have seen significant investment in the Craggy Range site as it continues to evolve and enhance the visitor experience to make sure it is delivering at a world class level and something that the people of Hawke’s Bay can be truly proud of.
The addition of two new luxury lodges and two new cottages earlier this year, combined with the recent cellar door and restaurant refit add to the visitor experience, which was also recognized last month with Craggy being ranked 11th in the World’s Best Wineries to visit beating global Icons, Penfold’s and Mouton Rothschild.
General Manager, Aaron Drummond commented “A key thing that was recognised last night as part of the Supreme Award was our commitment to the community. Craggy is in a 1000 year trust, meaning it can never be sold…so we want to make sure that it is also benefiting our community, whether that be the winemaking, tourism or the hospitality community. But most importantly we want Craggy Range to benefit the whole Hawke’s Bay community. One community project that we are incredibly proud of was the launch of our Children’s Christmas Foundation. Last Christmas we delivered more than 2,000 Santa sacks to the kids who needed it the most in Hawke’s Bay. This year with our friends and partners we plan to increase this to 6,000 Santa sacks across Hawke’s Bay.
“We hope the people of Hawke’s Bay are proud to bring their friends and family to Craggy. Last night was a great accolade for all the members of our team…hospitality staff, housekeepers, grounds staff & cellar door, who are all ensuring that we are delivering at a world class level across every touchpoint on a daily basis”.
