Drinks On Arrival
Craggy Range Rosé Spritz
There is something inherently joyful about the first days of summer - longer evenings, dining al fresco, and the return of light, refreshing drinks.
Inspired by the bright notes of strawberries and cream, and the subtle minerality of our Hawke’s Bay Rosé, Craggy Range Beverage Manager, Christien, has created a refined aperitif that celebrates the wine’s vibrant and moreish character.
The Rosé Spritz is lifted with sloe gin, enhancing those wild berry notes and offering a playful, almost Pimm’s-like charm. Finished with fresh mint, citrus, and seasonal berries, it’s the perfect companion for long, leisurely lunches and relaxed celebrations.
The perfect summer aperitif
This recipe serves one, but can easily be made for a crowd, and served in a pitcher.
- 120ml Craggy Range Hawke's Bay Rosé
- 15ml sloe gin - Christien recommends Haymans, but any good quality sloe gin works
- Dash of simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)
- 90ml soda water
- 6 mint leaves
- 4 orange slices - one round, cut into quarters or a few fresh, seasonal berries
Fill your glass with ice, add the Rosé, sloe gin and dash of simple syrup.
Top with soda, and garnish with fresh mint, orange and berries if using.
For a pitcher (1.5L), use one bottle of Rosé, 100ml sloe gin, 650ml soda water, simple syrup to taste. Garnish with mint, orange and berries.
