Estate Vineyards
From the raw, gravelly soils of Gimblett Gravels, to the layered terraces of Te Muna, Craggy Range has carved a legacy producing world-class wines that capture the spirit of these unique terroirs.
“The art of farming grapes involves finding the best blocks of land within the estate for each varietal, then making footprints in the vineyard, vigilantly managing and nurturing the vines to maximise their potential”
- Jonathan Hamlet, National Vineyards Manager
Our vineyards are situated in two of New Zealand’s most exceptional winegrowing regions - Gimblett Gravels in Hawke’s Bay and Te Muna Road in Martinborough.
This considered, multi-regional approach allows us to craft wines that express the distinct character of each site.
Each vineyard tells its own story, brought to life through our commitment to place, precision, and excellence.
Gimblett Gravels Estate
In the heart of Hawke's Bay, the Gimblett Gravels wine-growing district is defined by its raw, gravelly soils and warm, sheltered micro-climate. These unique conditions produce wines of remarkable depth, structure, and complexity - particularly Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, for which the region is now world-renowned, along with Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
Te Muna Road Estate
Outside the township of Martinborough lies our Te Muna Estate, a site known for its complex alluvial soils, diurnal shifts, and wild, wind-swept conditions. In te reo Māori, Te Muna means "secret place”, and fittingly, it has become a hidden gem of the wine world. From this site we produce Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir of remarkable aromatic purity and complexity.
