The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, bookings are highly recommended.

Your experience begins with a leisurely walk through our kitchen garden, where you’ll enjoy a welcome drink and seasonal canapés among the herbs and vegetables that shape our menus. Grown here on the estate and picked at their best, they offer a glimpse of what’s to come.

From the garden, you’ll make your way back to the restaurant and settle in to The Loft - our striking upstairs dining space. Led by the abundance of our own kitchen gardens and exceptional regional produce, Executive Chef Casey McDonald’s multi-course menu showcases the best of Craggy Range paired with our exceptional hospitality.

The Loft at Craggy Range

An experience that feels less like dining out, and more like being let in. Tucked away upstairs, The Loft is an intimate and luxuriously appointed space offering a unique dining experience that is comfortingly familiar, but still worth dressing up for.

The Loft at Craggy Range is one of Hawke's Bay's most inviting places to settle in for the evening.

Guests joining us on Friday and Saturday nights can choose between our celebrated Shared Menu, or for something truly special, our Signature Table - an experience designed for those who love to linger, and a truly convivial way to dine. Begin with an array of seasonal snacks to share, and a series of individually plated courses, before gathering around a generous shared main, followed by desserts.

Casey McDonald

At Craggy Range, Executive Chef Casey McDonald, has created a dining experience that reflects his passion for celebrating the region’s incredible produce and the families who grow it. His distinctive style combines warm, genuine hospitality with a commitment to showcasing the abundance of Hawke’s Bay.

Under his leadership, Craggy Range Restaurant has earned numerous accolades, including Three Hats, the title of Chef of the Year 2025, and New Zealand Winery Restaurant of the Year in the Cuisine Good Food Awards.

Casey’s career spans renowned kitchens across New Zealand and globally, including working alongside Rex Morgan in Wellington, Gary Danko in San Francisco, and Phil Howard at the two Michelin-starred The Square in London. In Melbourne, he led Andrew McConnell’s acclaimed restaurants -Supernormal, Cumulus Inc, and Cutler & Co. - the latter awarded Gourmet Traveller’s ‘Best in Australia’.

An exploration of our Giants Estate

As you move through the property, your guide will share the history and vision behind the Estate, from our distinctive architecture by John Blair, to its collection of striking sculptures, including the works by renowned artists Paul Day and Paul Dibble.

Enjoy a glass of Craggy Range wine as you take in the Estate's gardens, architecture and approach to sustainablitiy, with stories of the people, ideas and practices that have shaped the property over time.

The experience culminates in our Kitchen Garden, where you'll see the seasonal produce that plays an integral role in our menus. Learn about our biodynamic practices and how we grow, harvest and work with produce throughout the year.

Located in the heart of Havelock North, Mary’s offers a relaxed and vibrant neighbourhood dining experience, with a menu that celebrates local, seasonal ingredients. Enjoy everything from light bites and oysters, to comforting classics, served with warm, genuine hospitality.

The curated drinks list features our favourite Craggy Range wines, alongside local craft beers and cocktails.
