Our flagship restaurant offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience, celebrating the very best of the wider Hawke’s Bay region.

Led by Executive Chef Casey McDonald, the regionally inspired menu highlights the incredible produce of our region, perfectly paired with Craggy Range wines.

Recipient of Three Hats, named Winery Restaurant of the Year and also Chef of the Year at the Cuisine Good Food Awards 2025.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, bookings are highly recommended.

The Loft at Craggy Range

An experience that feels less like dining out, and more like being let in. Tucked away upstairs, The Loft is an intimate and luxuriously appointed space offering a unique dining experience that is comfortingly familiar, but still worth dressing up for.

As the weather cools, The Loft at Craggy Range becomes one of Hawke's Bay's most inviting places to settle in for the evening.

Guests joining us on Friday and Saturday nights can choose between our celebrated Shared Menu, or for something truly special, our Signature Table - an experience designed for those who love to linger.

Six generous courses bring together local seafood with rich, warming sauces, thoughtfully sourced meats, vibrant seasonal produce and decadent desserts, all enjoyed by the open fire.

The Sunday Table

Join us in the Cellar Door for a relaxed Sunday lunch. Menus change weekly - hearty dishes such as Duck & Pinot pie, or a slow-braised winter favourite - served with sides fresh from our garden.

Complete the table with a curated wine flight, a favourite by the glass, or something special from our cellar to complement each week’s menu.

Casey McDonald

At Craggy Range, Executive Chef Casey McDonald, has created a dining experience that reflects his passion for celebrating the region’s incredible produce and the families who grow it. His distinctive style combines warm, genuine hospitality with a commitment to showcasing the abundance of Hawke’s Bay.

Under his leadership, Craggy Range Restaurant has earned numerous accolades, including Three Hats, the title of Chef of the Year 2025, and New Zealand Winery Restaurant of the Year in the Cuisine Good Food Awards.

Casey’s career spans renowned kitchens across New Zealand and globally, including working alongside Rex Morgan in Wellington, Gary Danko in San Francisco, and Phil Howard at the two Michelin-starred The Square in London. In Melbourne, he led Andrew McConnell’s acclaimed restaurants -Supernormal, Cumulus Inc, and Cutler & Co. - the latter awarded Gourmet Traveller’s ‘Best in Australia’.

Our organic and biodynamic garden serves as the foundation for our seasonal menus, ensuring that our talented kitchen team, has access to an exceptional variety of fresh produce.

Our sister restaurant, Mary’s, is named in honour of Mary Peabody.

Located in the heart of Havelock North, Mary’s offers a relaxed and vibrant neighbourhood dining experience, with a menu that celebrates local, seasonal ingredients. Enjoy everything from light bites and oysters, to comforting classics, served with warm, genuine hospitality.

The curated drinks list features our favourite Craggy Range wines, alongside local craft beers and cocktails.
