2024 Les Beaux Cailloux

Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay

Powerful | Brioche | Mineral

Sourced from select blocks, Les Beaux Cailloux, meaning “the beautiful pebbles”, is our most pure, complex and refined Chardonnay. We look for restraint in our winemaking of this varietal, and believe it reflects both our style and the distinct terroir it comes from. The minerality, savouriness and energy of this wine are entirely unique - attributed to the concentration of stones and our considered farming approach.

This release is available to our Prestige Wine Club members only.

Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay

In the heart of Hawke’s Bay, the Gimblett Gravels wine-growing district is one of the most prized terroirs in New Zealand - and Craggy Range is proud to be among its earliest champions.

Formed by the shifting path of the Ngaruroro River over 150 years ago, the Gimblett Gravels is defined by its free-draining stony soils and warm, sun-soaked days. These unique conditions produce wines of remarkable depth, structure, and complexity - particularly Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, for which the region is now world-renowned, along with Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Craggy Range’s Gimblett Gravels Vineyard consistently delivers some of our most iconic wines, including the celebrated Le Sol, and Sophia. Each vintage is a reflection of our meticulous approach to single-site winemaking and our commitment to expressing the character of the land.
