Our Gimblett Gravels vineyard is defined by its stony soils - once destined to be a quarry, now home to some of our most iconic wines. Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon thrive here, producing reds of richness and elegance, marked by the fine, dusty tannins that are the signature of this remarkable terroir.

This unique site also produces our Chardonnay, a wine of purity, with floral notes, and pronounced minerality.

It is the synergy of these ancient soils, a distinctive climate, and meticulous viticulture that sets the Gimblett Gravels apart - crafting world-class wines that speak to our land and our people.

As autumn settles in, the vineyard shifts into beautiful golden hues, the vines are slowing down after an iconic season.

Rich, and structured, the newly released 2022 Te Kahu is a Bordeaux-style blend that captures the very essence of our Gimblett Gravels Vineyard. With notes of cedar, cassis, and a hint of tobacco, this vintage is wonderfully expressive and built to age beautifully.

It is well and truly red wine season in New Zealand, this one is a perfect match to enjoy with braised lamb, good friends and a crackling fire.

This vintage, we introduced these new Clayvers to our Gimblett Gravels winery in Hawke’s Bay - these ceramic vessels allow us to age our Pinot Noir with exceptional purity and precision, showcasing a block in its truest form.

Unlike traditional oak, the unique ceramic composition allows gentle oxygen exchange without evaporation, removing the need for topping up. They also give us greater control over oak influence, resulting in Pinot Noir with incredible intensity and a true sense of place. These vessels are now filled with our Prestige Aroha blocks - we look forward to seeing how they evolve.
